Baltic Sea

Well Mary Jo and I are headed out for the Baltic Sea cruise on the Norwegian Star.  Fly to Copenhagen on June 3 arrive June 4.  We will spend the 4th and my birthday June 5th at a B&B then board the ship June 6.   The highlight of the trip is two days in St. Petersburg Russia.  Our daughter, Patricia, has a class project where we will take their class mascots (BUDDY-Sacred Heart and Cardinal-Little Flower school) with us and take their picture at various notable spots. We will also have SPOT, the gps tracking device.  Her class can follow our journey on the SPOT map.  You are welcome to follow along.  The easiest link would be to go to www.rogerrockwell.com  and click on the WHERE IS ROGER NOW tab.  That will take you to the SPOT page.  I will try and upload some pictures here when internet is available.  Bon Voyage

We had an unexpected delight on our flight to Charlotte, N.C.  We were seated in the first row, with plenty of leg room and were served a free drink. But that was nothing compared to our flight in Business Class on Lufthansa.  All I could think of was “Wow! And Double Wow!!  This is awesome!

We have electric reclining seats, with separate controls for the back, foot and lumbar support.  There is storage for our carry0on luggage right in front of us, for easy access.  We each have a bottle of water and a small courtesy duffle bag with socks, a sealed packet with a toothbrush and tooth paste, eye shades, ear plugs and covers for the headphone earpieces.  All of the business class seats have their own 19” flat screen TV.

There are fifty different movies to choose from, as well at TV channels and all kinds of music.  To top it all off, shortly after we were seated we were served a glass of sparkling wine ( in a real wine glass (no plastic in business class).  Hurrah!  This is so exciting!  I am getting so spoiled, I’ll want to book business class for all our future flights. (Not going to happen, but what a beautiful dream, none the less.)

We are headed for Munich, Germany.  It will take about 7 hours, which puts out arrival at 1 a.m. Pensacola time.  About an hour into the flight, an attendant served us hot washcloth to wash our face and hands. Addressing us by name, “Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell”  we were given a laminated booklet that contained the dinner menu, which included a salad, three choices for appetizer, main course and dessert, with a huge selection of beverages.  Before our food was served, the flight attendant placed a white linen tablecloth on out food trays.  The food was wonderful.   Wow!, again.  This is so much fun!
